VIDEOS

2 Foot Finishes are a staple of our program.  Players should use them when they think their shot will be challenged in any way.  You are stronger off 2 feet and have more ballance.  Players also have more options going off of 2 feet (ex. shot fake or kick out).

The first video shows how to make a pass to a player when there is a defender in front of you.  The second video is how to read the second defender on penetration.

These two videos are all about the fast break.  The first is what we call grab & peek.  Players MUST do this when the ball touches thier hands.  The second video is what to do after you grab & peek.  Players should Race the ball down the court if no pass is open ahead of them.

These two examples are what NOT to do.  "P Dribbling" or dribbling with out a purpose puts the indiviual & team at a disadvantage.  Also jumping into the air to make a pass is a bad habbit.  Always jump stop to make a solid pass.  You might get away with it vs a bad team but not against good teams.

Kyle Lowry 2016 Game 7

2 Feet Jump Stops &

Shoulder/Chest Reads

These two videos are about finishing at the rim.  2 feet finishes are always better than 1 foot finishes.  Kyle Lowry is an under sized gaurd who can score at the rim.  The other video has examples of different finishes at the rim.

FINISHING BODY ON / BALL AWAY

PGC or Point Guard College is the best basketball training camp out there today.  PGC teaches players how to play both mentally and physically.  Most camps you work on simple skills and play games.  A course at PGC not only teaches the skill but when, why & how to use it.  They also show video from players in the NBA & College using the skills that have been taught.  Point Guard College's curriculum fits seamlessly into our program at Triton Central.  Please check out their website on the left and here are my suggestions on when to send your kid to PGC.
